Drylining, also known as dry walling, is a technique that consists of cladding the internal walls of a building using plasterboard, so that paint can be applied without using wet plaster finish.

Suspended ceilings, also known as false ceilings, are secondary ceilings that “drop” from the upper floor slab, hanging from brackets fixed to it, supporting metal grids on which panels are later fixed.
There is a range of advantages in adding suspended ceilings:
- the void between the upper floor slab and the suspended ceiling creates a useful space for the distribution of heating, ventilation and AC services
- plumbing, electrical wiring and sound systems can be installed in the void
- CCTV, fire or smoke detectors can be installed in the void
- the void itself forms a pressurized channel that either supplies air or extracts it from the space below
